CHC30121 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
OVERVIEW
This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
QUALIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS
To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of least 160 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours.No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Entry Requirements
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements stipulated in the training package (CHC), AIO requires its applicants to:
- be at least 18 years old;
- obtain the ACSF as follows:

- have moderate level of computer literacy
- successfully complete the pre-training review (including LLN Assessment)
Work placement requirements:
For practical placement purposes, this vocational sector requires:
- Working with Children Check

- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination
- Flu vaccination

Conducted Face-to-Face in the training rooms
PRACTICAL COMPONENT
Workplace components of the course will be undertaken in approved early childhood education and care as published by Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
COURSE DURATION
CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will be delivered over 55 weeks including holidays.
Participants may complete the program earlier than these timelines through achievement of RPL or Credit Transfer
ASSESSMENT
Assessor will use a range of assessment methods to gather sufficient and quality evidence about the learner's performance to make the assessment decision based on the qualification delivery and assessment strategy. Evidence used for this qualification and target group is as follows:

STUDY LOCATIONS
Suite 302D @ Corporate One, 84-90 Hotham Street, Preston VIC 3072AIO will lease/hire training rooms in suburbs where an interest or demand in the qualification has been ascertained.

QUALIFICATION ISSUANCE
To be eligible to receive the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, issued by AIO Training, participants must successfully complete all core units and elective units as specified in the CHC – Community Services Training PackageParticipants who do not successfully complete all the requirements for the qualification will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the units that have been successfully completed and assessed.
