​CHC50121 – Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

OVERVIEW

This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework and for maintaining compliance in other areas of service operations. They use specialised knowledge and analyse and apply theoretical concepts to diverse work situations. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other educators. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.

QUALIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS

To achieve this qualification, the individual must have completed a total of least 280 hours of work in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The total number of hours may be applied collectively across all units of competency that include the requirement for workplace hours. No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. Under the Education and Care Services National Law (2011) the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) publishes lists of approved early childhood education and care qualifications and information regarding regulatory requirements here: www.acecqa.gov.au.

Entry Requirements

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who:

 

  • hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or
  • CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

 

In addition, AIO requires its applicants to

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • obtain ACSF levels as follows:

 

Reading 3
Writing 3
Oral Communication 3
Numeracy 2
  • have moderate level of computer literacy
  • successfully complete the pre-training review including LLN assessment

 

Work placement requirements:
For practical placement purposes, this vocational sector requires

  •  Working with Children Check
  • National Police record check
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination
  • Flu vaccination

MODES OF STUDY

THEORY COMPONENT

  • Conducted Face-to-Face in the training rooms

PRACTICAL COMPONENT

  • Workplace components of the course will be undertaken in approved early childhood education and care as published by Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or
  • a simulated working environment

COURSE DURATION

  • CHC50121 – Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care will be delivered over 60 weeks including holidays.
 Participants may complete the program earlier than these timelines through achievement of RPL or Credit Transfer

ASSESSMENT

Assessor will use a range of assessment methods to gather sufficient and quality evidence about the learner's performance to make the assessment decision based on the qualification delivery and assessment strategy. Evidence used for this qualification and target group is as follows:

QUALIFICATION ISSUANCE

To be eligible to receive the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, issued by AIO Training, participants must successfully complete all core units and elective units as specified in the CHC – Community Services Training Package. Participants who do not successfully complete all the requirements for the qualification will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the units that have been successfully completed and assessed.

CERTIFICATE III IN POLYMER PROCESSING

OVERVIEW

The Certificate III in Polymer Processing has been developed for polymer technician operators who use production equipment to directly produce products and are involved in the start-up and shutdown of equipment in accordance with the operating procedures. This course has been developed in conjunction with one of the world leaders in steel cord belt production and conveyor maintenance services and components and provides learners with the highest level of skills that enable them to be successful in the workplace.

QUALIFICATION SPECIFICATIONS

The Certificate III in Polymer Processing is intended for advanced operators who use production equipment to directly produce products. They would undertake more advanced operations, typically including start-up and shutdown in accordance with the operating procedures and would apply their knowledge to anticipate problems. They would be expected to solve a range of foreseen and unforeseen problems, using product and process knowledge to develop solutions to problems which do not have a known solution, or a solution recorded in the procedures. Certificate III also contains units of competency which are the beginning of the polymer technician stream and which contribute to a deeper knowledge of polymers and processes.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must consider the following:
  • Candidates must be over 18
  • Candidates must meet the literacy and numeracy benchmarks. Candidates must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently and have adequate numeracy skills at a level that enables you to:
  • Interpret and compare numerical information and data, perform technical calculations and calibration measurements and calculate technical specifications
  • Training and assessment is classroom and/or workplace based, participants must be currently working within the industry with the designated workplace host, and have a minimum of 10 months work history with that host
  • Candidates must be prepared to complete shift work on a rotating roster
  • Candidates must be physically able to undertake heavy lifting
  • Candidates must be able to work in an extreme temperature environment

MODES OF STUDY

THEORY COMPONENT

  • Conducted in the training room within the workplace as either instructor led classroom sessions, or online using the world class Axcelerate LMS

PRACTICAL COMPONENT

  • In the workplace/worksite under safe working conditions or a simulated working environment
  • Other location by agreement with the employer

COURSE DURATION

  • Approximately 24 months with the learning typically completed over 1200 – 2400 hours.
 Participants may complete the program earlier than these timelines through achievement of RPL or Credit Transfer

QUALIFICATION ISSUANCE

To be eligible to receive the PMB30116 Certificate III in Polymer Processing, issued by AIO Training, participants must successfully complete all core units and elective units as specified in the PMB – Plastics, Rubber and Cable making Training Package – Release 1.0 Participants who do not successfully complete all the requirements for the qualification will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for the units that have been successfully completed and assessed. If you are interested in undertaking this qualification, please contact your on-site Training Manager to discuss the option of enrolment.
